What the analysis found
Positive evidence 1
Things this app does right, published at the same strengths as the catch list.
One source only — shown, not confirmed 3
A single kind of evidence. We publish these because withholding them would be the bigger distortion, and we do not treat any of them as a finding we stand behind.
What reviewers said
Verbatim excerpts from public store reviews, shown as corroborating user reports. They are not Appworthy audit evidence, and a quotation is not proof of the finding it sits under.
Trial converts to a charge
will NOT allow easy cancel subscription. free trial force charges so it was never free tried to cancel same day WON'T let you or even take you to subscription options until AFTER it's billed when you search for questions in app or…
I tried the 7 day free trial. When joining I clicked the $10 a month option. Before the 7 day free trial period ended a $120 charge was rejected on my credit card as suspected fraud. They hit my card with a full year subscription of $120…
this app sucks. nothing good to watch and it's impossible to cancel your plan so you still get charged even if you don't want it. I got a 30 day free trial and it charged me before my 30 days were up and wouldn't let me cancel
Aggressive ad load
not even worth the money to use. first of all it crashes a lot. second you can't even find the right movies or shows by category. and finally the worse part of it all is the damn ads. you can't even watch a 40 minute show without 7-10…
Haven't even tried playing a video yet. ... I signed up for the free amc+ trial to start watching everything walking dead since I saw so many ads for it, but the walking dead original show isn't even on there? Very misleading-doesn't make…
For just $8 you can subscribe and be bombed with two ads every five minutes! I’ve never seen a paid subscription with so much advertising. Plus, there are glitches when you pause, or fast forward, playback. The layout is outdated.
Hard to cancel
So disappointed. I was so happy to purchase a yearly subscription, but did so without reading these comments, my big mistake. Now I can't cancel without losing my money because it is non refundable. Now I know why. I can't get the app to…
The narrator got turned on and I cannot shut it off. So i'm unsubscribing, you don't have no button up there for me to turn on and off, it's gone.No matter what is gone. oh on top of that the narrator is new it's also the loading up I…
AMC keeps trying to charge me even though I do not have an active subscription. They have tried to charge me as recently as yesterday. And I can't cancel because it shows I do NOT have an active subscription. *update 06/20/26 Yes, I did…

How the automated analysis works
This assessment is produced automatically. Three independent signals are read — user reviews, the store listing and the store privacy disclosure — and each candidate finding is filed under the sources that support it.
No charge stands on one kind of evidence — with one published exception. A finding is either a measured fact that anyone can reproduce (an ad SDK is in the package; every subscription bills weekly; the privacy label omits a tracker we can see), or it is an interpretation — and an interpretation needs independent sources to agree before it reaches the catch list. The exception is a harm only users can see: a charge may publish from reviews alone, as “Reported by N users”, once enough reviewers raise it to clear that charge’s own published bar. That agreement rule is what replaced the human reviewer, not a model’s confidence.
There is no overall score, on purpose. A 0–99 number was published here until 2026-09-15. It was withdrawn because it discriminated too weakly to be the instrument — 44.7% of every pair of apps tied — and because a single number is a verdict where a count is an observation. What publishes instead is a row of measurements, each of which says what was counted and, where we could not look, says that instead.
Findings under One source only are real reports we do not stand behind as findings. They are shown because withholding them entirely would hide a genuine complaint, and labelled because publishing them as charges would be an accusation off a single source.
Several measurements above say “Not assessed” because no artefact we hold can answer them. A human review is what resolves those — and it can remove a favourable band as easily as add one.
