What the analysis found
One source only — shown, not confirmed 6
A single kind of evidence. We publish these because withholding them would be the bigger distortion, and we do not treat any of them as a finding we stand behind.
What reviewers said
Verbatim excerpts from public store reviews, shown as corroborating user reports. They are not Appworthy audit evidence, and a quotation is not proof of the finding it sits under.
Trial converts to a charge
Paying for what? — I never started a subscription, i didnt even get the free trial and now my phone is frozen because of this app charging me insane amounts of money and i have no way to stop the charges
Terrible — Just doesn’t do what you expect. No wonder they don’t have a free trial without giving your credit card. Total scam.
Secret charges — I don’t like when apps give you a free trial then try to charge you.
Reports that the ads misrepresent the app
The app has false advertising — It states it’s free, when you have to purchase a subscription.
Bait and switch — Advertised online as free… for 7 days.
It’s not free! Bait and switch!!!! — Try to convert your scan and they want to charge you. Then you can’t get out of their web page without deleting your scan.. cause you didn’t PAY for it.
Paywall blocks the basics
Crazy not to just charge for the app — When you have to pay to do literally anything at all it’s surprising they don’t just charge for the app and if you do wanna pay for the scans they said they already gave you the payment system is…
Have to Pay — App used to be free and usable but now everything is behind a paywall. Very upset about this.
Free??? — App Store said it was free and then you want to charge $14.99/wk to use it???
Reports of unexpected charges
yummy slop! — This is literally just a scam to get your money. $12 a week is absolutely insane for something that most people might use twice a year.
Scam!!! — Stole my money after I cancelled my subscription and would not give me a refund
Scam — I cancel my subscription and they still charge me for the app
Hard to cancel
Cancel account — I cannot cancel this purchase and they charge me weekly. I need to cancel this . Please cancel payment or allow me to contact or to cancel right from the app. Cancel cancel cancel
SCAM APP - BE CAREFUL — This app makes you sign up for a subscription after a free trial. The subscription charges you nearly $2 PER DAY and does not show up in your “settings” app under the “subscriptions” tab so it is extremely hard to…
I cannot cancel this subscription — Why is it so hard to figure out how to cancel this subscription???? Maybe because it’s a trap to get your money?? That’s why I’m giving it one star!
What this app sells
From the store listing. Billing terms are read from each purchase’s name — the stores don’t publish them — so treat them as a strong hint, not a disclosure.
How the automated analysis works
This assessment is produced automatically. Three independent signals are read — user reviews, the store listing and the store privacy disclosure — and each candidate finding is filed under the sources that support it.
No charge stands on one kind of evidence — with one published exception. A finding is either a measured fact that anyone can reproduce (an ad SDK is in the package; every subscription bills weekly; the privacy label omits a tracker we can see), or it is an interpretation — and an interpretation needs independent sources to agree before it reaches the catch list. The exception is a harm only users can see: a charge may publish from reviews alone, as “Reported by N users”, once enough reviewers raise it to clear that charge’s own published bar. That agreement rule is what replaced the human reviewer, not a model’s confidence.
There is no overall score, on purpose. A 0–99 number was published here until 2026-09-15. It was withdrawn because it discriminated too weakly to be the instrument — 44.7% of every pair of apps tied — and because a single number is a verdict where a count is an observation. What publishes instead is a row of measurements, each of which says what was counted and, where we could not look, says that instead.
Findings under One source only are real reports we do not stand behind as findings. They are shown because withholding them entirely would hide a genuine complaint, and labelled because publishing them as charges would be an accusation off a single source.
Several measurements above say “Not assessed” because no artefact we hold can answer them. A human review is what resolves those — and it can remove a favourable band as easily as add one.
