성경은 교리를 재는 잣대(Canon)인데 틀린 잣대로는 교리를 올바로 잴 수 없다. 하나님은 하나님의 절대권위를 인정하지 않는 사람에게는 하나님의 진리를 깨달을 수 있도록 어떤 조명도 주지 않으신다. 많은 사람이 개혁을 이야기하고 있으나, 개혁을 이루는 것은 변개되지 않은 성경으로 돌아가서 먼저 하나님의 말씀의 권위를 인정하는 것뿐이다. 하나님은 “책”을 통해서 자신의 뜻을 계시하신다(삼상 3:1,7,19,21). 또 성령님은 성경이 말씀하신 대로 성도들을 인도하신다(요 16:13). 하나님께서는 자신의 말씀을 두려워하는 사람들에게만 자신의 뜻을 나타내 보이신다. 하나님께서는 예수 그리스도의 신격을 격하시킨 알렉산드리아 사본들에서 펴낸 변개된 성경들(눅 2:33, 행 8:37, 딤전 3:16), 사탄을 예수 그리스도의 위치로 격상시켜 번역한(단 9:27, 사 14:12,15, 계 6:2) 변개된 성경들로는 그분의 뜻을 이루지 않으신다. 살아 계신 하나님께서는 변개된 성경으로 하는 일을 하나님의 사역으로 간주하지 않으시며, 그런 성경으로 선교하는 일도 기뻐하지 않으신다. 하나님께서는 그런 성경을 보급하는 일도 칭찬하지 않으시며, 그런 성경을 통하여는 조명을 주지도 않으신다. 그런 성경이 성령의 칼이 되겠는가? 하나님의 말씀은 영감으로 기록된 절대무오한 성경이다. 그러나 어떤 성경이 그런 성경인가? 당신은 그런 성경을 지금 손에 들고 있는가?
이 성경을 번역하게 된 것은 우리 민족에게 참다운 하나님의 말씀이 있게 하자는 단 한 가지 목적을 위해서이다. 1988년 사복음서를 '새성경'이란 이름으로 출간한 이래 1990년 신약성경을 출간했고, 1994년에 신구약 성경전서인 '한글킹제임스성경'이 출간되기에 이른 것이다.…
