About this app

That link a friend just sent you probably has a dozen tracking parameters glued to the end of it. Clean Links strips them off. It also opens up QR codes so you can read where they actually go before you commit to tapping.

The app does a handful of things, and does them without an account, a subscription, or an ad:

QR reader that shows you the destination URL first. Quishing scams work because nobody can read a QR code with their eyes, so you scan and hope. This one puts the real address on screen and waits.

Link cleaner. Paste anything, get back the same link minus the utm tags, click IDs, and referral junk. Works on links from hundreds of shopping sites, social networks and search engines.

Send to Device. Push a cleaned link from your iPhone into your Mac's browser, or over to another iPhone or iPad. If the device is asleep or offline the link waits for it.

Store update history

Each store’s release notes, as the developer wrote them. They are the developer’s words, not ours.

App Store

Version 1.1.1 · 2026-10-27
Google and Reddit links work in Safari again • Links that go through google.com/url, such as those in Google Docs, Gmail and Search results, and Reddit's outbound links now open their destination in Safari, instead of a "Redirect Notice" or an invalid-link page. • Safari now skips Google's redirect page where it can and goes straight to the destination. Also in this update • Links with Japanese, Chinese and other non-Latin text are shown readably in the app, in Recent and in the URL editor, instead of as %-codes. Copying, sharing and opening still use the exact link. • Clean Links now appears in Firefox's share sheet. • If Receive Links from Other Devices can't be turned on, Settings now…

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

What a missing label means

Not yet tested. No analysis has been published for this app, so there is no method to describe for it yet. A missing label is not a clean bill of health: it means nothing has been read, not that nothing is wrong.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A human review gives an app hands-on, recorded measurements. None has been run for this app. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
