Ever wondered how much you need to invest today so your retirement nest egg grows on its own? The Coast FIRE Calculator helps you answer that question. “Coast FIRE” is a strategy within the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement that involves saving and investing enough early in life that, without further contributions, your portfolio will grow to fund retirement. Once you reach your Coast FIRE number, you can shift to work that covers only your current expenses while compound interest does the heavy lifting.
