Developer says data deletion can be requested

Measured

The developer's store data-safety disclosure states that data deletion can be requested; we have not seen a deletion control in the app's own text

Sources
The store listing
Agreement
A measured fact from one deterministic, checkable source.
Where measured
From the Google Play listing
Definition

The developer's data-safety disclosure on the store states that users can request deletion of their data, or the app's own text offers a way to delete the account. This restates what the developer declares; it is not a test of whether deletion works. Apple publishes no equivalent disclosure, so on an Apple-only listing only the app's own text can support it.

Reviewers repeatedly report that the app is not what its advertising showed. We never see the ad creative itself, so nothing we collect can corroborate or refute this — it is published as an attributed user report: what reviewers say, and how many of them said it.

Day 7, trial ended and I was billed. im only planned 1 week free to try it. Right now I'm trying to plan the week and build a grocery list. The app is very slow and locks up. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Ultra which should have no issue…

3★ · Google Play · 2025-08-24

Installed it thinking it'd be a great app for limited items I have at home to make recipes with. It doesn't tell you there's a free trial or in app purchases after a week free. Tried deleting account, did what it prompted, and refuses to…

1★ · Google Play · 2024-11-21

Doesn't disclose there is a free trial until after you have registered an account! Also doesn't say what the fee amount is before you start your free trial! Should say what they are going to charge when the free trial ends! Shady!

Reports that the ads misrepresent the app

Didn't even try the trial because it felt like a huge bait and switch. I think part of that is on me for not reading the description closely prior to installing, but it should've been noted in the advertisements for this app since that…

bait and switch on paid app. boo!

1★ · Google Play · 2026-09-07

Misleading advertising. "Contains in-app purchases" leads me to believe it's a free app with extra features you can pay for; however, this app costs money to even use beyond the first week. Plenty of websites can provide me with recipes…

Paywall blocks the basics

Great app overall. we use it to keep track of expiring food. Its wonderful for finding recipes using ingredients in your pantry. I do have some grips. 1: Allergies should NOT be locked behind a paywal!! its an allergy, it can literally…

3★ · Google Play · 2026-01-04

Great idea, but bad execution. Walmart integration is constantly broken and the onboarding process makes it seem like you have to pay to use the app. If you were to theoretically get around that and get to the free version (I saw the free…

2★ · Google Play · 2026-08-31

Unless you're willing to dish out $50 a year for this app, don't bother. Even the most basic functionality, like increasing the serving size, is locked behind a paywall.

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

How the automated analysis works

This assessment is produced automatically. Three independent signals are read — user reviews, the store listing and the store privacy disclosure — and each candidate finding is filed under the sources that support it.

No charge stands on one kind of evidence — with one published exception. A finding is either a measured fact that anyone can reproduce (an ad SDK is in the package; every subscription bills weekly; the privacy label omits a tracker we can see), or it is an interpretation — and an interpretation needs independent sources to agree before it reaches the catch list. The exception is a harm only users can see: a charge may publish from reviews alone, as “Reported by N users”, once enough reviewers raise it to clear that charge’s own published bar. That agreement rule is what replaced the human reviewer, not a model’s confidence.

There is no overall score, on purpose. A 0–99 number was published here until 2026-09-15. It was withdrawn because it discriminated too weakly to be the instrument — 44.7% of every pair of apps tied — and because a single number is a verdict where a count is an observation. What publishes instead is a row of measurements, each of which says what was counted and, where we could not look, says that instead.

Findings under One source only are real reports we do not stand behind as findings. They are shown because withholding them entirely would hide a genuine complaint, and labelled because publishing them as charges would be an accusation off a single source.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A hands-on test can confirm or contradict a finding and adds its own measurements; it does not change a measurement row. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
