About this app

Dovetail Words is a crossword puzzle without clues. You get every letter up front. The challenge is figuring out where each two-letter piece belongs so that every row and column is a real word.

Tap a piece to turn it through its four possible arrangements, then drag it into the grid. Words light up when they click into place. Because the words cross, one good move can solve more than one word at once.

Pick the kind of puzzle you want:

• Compact 5×3 for a quick break

• Standard 5×4 for the usual challenge

• Expert 5×5 when you want a tougher board

• Random for either Compact or Standard

Tap Clear to return your pieces to the tray while keeping hint pieces in place. This update also includes: - Better sharing and puzzle-code entry on smaller iPhones. - More reliable tile placement and correct-letter feedback in Easy Mode. - Fixes for saved puzzles, Daily counts, and resuming Expert streaks. - Improvements to fireworks, sound controls, and accessibility. Existing puzzle codes still work. For new shared challenges and matching Daily puzzles, make sure everyone has updated to 1.2.2.
