About this app

Family Herd is the farm book for a small place: cattle and other stock, land, receipts, and the day’s work—on the phone you already carry.

Herd

Record cattle, horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and the rest. Tags, photos, breeding, births, and health stay with each animal.

Land

Draw paddocks, fields, coops, and crop ground on the map. See what’s on each place. Move animals by dragging them. Track hay and feed on hand.

Books

Snap a receipt, note what you spent or sold, and keep a simple profit-and-loss. Share a buyer sheet when you sell an animal.

One farm, several phones

Each farm has a code. Family and hired help join with that code and the same book updates for everyone.

Face ID asks only after you leave the app for more than 5 minutes. You stay signed in while the phone sits on the table. On Land, Remove sits beside Draw outline and Clear outline. Animals on that place move to another paddock. Adding an animal follows the kind you picked. New cattle and goats start with a blank breed. A goat’s due date shows a 10-day kidding window, and recording a birth uses the right class. CSV and Excel files are named with the place and the date. The Work tab is steadier.
