From App Store reviews

This observation has not cleared the required evidence standard.

Definition

Reviewers repeatedly report that the app is not what its advertising showed. We never see the ad creative itself, so nothing we collect can corroborate or refute this — it is published as an attributed user report: what reviewers say, and how many of them said it.

Open evidence

Usable without an account

One source only

The store privacy disclosure (8 entries) links no contact details or identifiers to the user — consistent with an app that does not require an account. Self-reported by the developer.

Where measured
From the App Store privacy disclosure

This observation has not cleared the required evidence standard.

Definition

The app's own screens offer a way past sign-up — guest access, skipping, or browsing before registering — rather than gating the product behind an account. The store's privacy disclosure is checked alongside it: that disclosure is self-reported, so it corroborates this credit rather than establishing it.

Open evidence

Nothing was published as a thing to watch for in this assessment. That is not a finding that nothing is wrong with the app.

Trial converts to a charge

Shown, not confirmed

“Try” app for 7 days = $15+ — Sounds like a free trial but immediately charges you. Did not apply a makeup or filter, completely altered image / AI replacement.

App is a scam!!! — App doesn’t even work properly and whatever you see on tiktok, it’s nothing like that. You will look nothing like yourself. Initially I wanted to try it because I saw a 7 free trial that’s why I subscribed but I was…

1★ · App Store · 2025-05-07

SCAM ALERT — Do not sign up, the free trial tricks you into automatically paying $14, refund got denied, I’m gonna have to talk to my bank, and look into filing a report with the BBB.

Reports that the ads misrepresent the app

Shown, not confirmed

Awful — False advertisement about free trial. Very limited. Cannot do more then two.

1★ · App Store · 2025-06-04

THE WORST APP IN EXISTENCE — This is such a pathetic app. Sadly Apple won’t give me a refund. Ads are misleading. Please don’t waste your time or money. If I could give it 0 stars I would!

1★ · App Store · 2025-03-15

A joke — I never write reviews but it’s really false advertisement, came from TikTok where I had people promoting this app and not even a minute in it already had me already doing a review and I haven’t even seen what the app can do…

1★ · App Store · 2024-12-31

A sampled review illustrates one person’s experience. It does not establish a finding on its own.

Measurements

5 measured · 3 not assessed

Supporting measurements. They are not a complete list of possible harms or positives. “Not assessed” means we could not measure it — never zero, never a pass.

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

How the automated analysis works

This assessment is produced automatically. Three independent signals are read — user reviews, the store listing and the store privacy disclosure — and each candidate finding is filed under the sources that support it.

No charge stands on one kind of evidence — with one published exception. A finding is either a measured fact that anyone can reproduce (an ad SDK is in the package; every subscription bills weekly; the privacy label omits a tracker we can see), or it is an interpretation — and an interpretation needs independent sources to agree before it reaches the catch list. The exception is a harm only users can see: a charge may publish from reviews alone, as “Reported by N users”, once enough reviewers raise it to clear that charge’s own published bar. That agreement rule is what replaced the human reviewer, not a model’s confidence.

There is no overall score, on purpose. A 0–99 number was published here until 2026-09-15. It was withdrawn because it discriminated too weakly to be the instrument — 44.7% of every pair of apps tied — and because a single number is a verdict where a count is an observation. What publishes instead is a row of measurements, each of which says what was counted and, where we could not look, says that instead.

Findings under One source only are real reports we do not stand behind as findings. They are shown because withholding them entirely would hide a genuine complaint, and labelled because publishing them as charges would be an accusation off a single source.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A hands-on test can confirm or contradict a finding and adds its own measurements; it does not change a measurement row. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
