About this app

Herd is the podcast app built for listeners - not ads.

Enjoy a truly ad-free podcast experience. Herd uses advanced AI to automatically detect and skip host-read ads, dynamically inserted ads, and external advertisements, so you can spend more time listening to the content you love.

Whether you're listening to business, comedy, news, technology, or true crime podcasts, Herd makes every episode faster, cleaner, and distraction-free.

No manual skipping.

No sitting through ads.

Just great podcasts.

SMART AD SKIPPING

Herd automatically analyzes podcast episodes and identifies advertisements while you listen. Ads are skipped so you can stay focused on the conversation.

Our AI detects:

Host-read ads

Dynamically inserted ads

External advertisement segments

That means less skipping and more listening.

App Store

Version 2.1.1 · 2026-10-23
- Smarter autoplay: it now plays the next newer episode of the show you're listening to, and you can set each show to Newer, Older or Off. - More reliable automatic downloads, plus a new "Listening Habits" priority that downloads your favourite shows first. - Downloaded episodes are scanned for ads in the background, so skipping is ready before you press play. - Transcripts now fill in as you listen, even when the transcript page isn't open. - New setting to turn off lock screen scrubbing, which stops accidental skips (CarPlay too). - Smoother loading on the Search page. - Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

What a missing label means

Not yet tested. No analysis has been published for this app, so there is no method to describe for it yet. A missing label is not a clean bill of health: it means nothing has been read, not that nothing is wrong.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A human review gives an app hands-on, recorded measurements. None has been run for this app. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
