About this app
Kakeibo is a budgeting app based on the Japanese method created in 1904. The idea is simple: awareness changes behavior. No spreadsheets, no algorithms: just you and your decisions. One month at a time.
PLAN, TRACK, REFLECT
At the start of each month, set your budget: income, fixed costs, savings goal. Throughout the month, log your spending manually. Each entry is a moment of awareness. At month's end, reflect on what happened. Did you keep your promises? What will you change?
FOUR CATEGORIES, ZERO COMPLEXITY
Every expense falls into one of four categories:
- Needs: rent, groceries, utilities, insurance
- Wants: dining out, shopping, entertainment
- Culture: books, courses, museums, hobbies
