About this app

Eight crew, seven days, one galley and one trip to the store.

Rainbow’s End Provisioning plans every meal of the voyage on a calendar and turns it into the grocery list. Try the sample voyage to see it work.

WHAT IT DOES

• VOYAGE: dates, crew and a provisioning pattern: full (every meal aboard) or split (breakfasts and lunches aboard, most dinners ashore, the way charter weeks run). Say who drinks what, which snacks to keep aboard, which food allergies are aboard, and whether the crew drinks from the tanks. Change the dates, days or crew any time.

• CALENDAR: breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day, each aboard, ashore or off, at anchor or underway. Suggestions plan fresh meals early and one-pot meals underway. It warns about food that won’t keep to its day, meals with a crew allergen, and water the tanks can’t cover.…

Opens on the voyage you’re on. During the voyage, the Voyage tab shows the day and today’s meals, and the Calendar opens on today. Open a meal for its amounts for that day’s crew and its cooking steps. Try a sample voyage: a week’s charter for six, already planned, to see how the calendar becomes the grocery list. On the iPhone, the grocery list comes first. The cart remembers how many went in: if the plan grows, the line comes back with what is still to buy. Meals aboard that aren’t planned are counted, since they buy nothing. Change a voyage after you make it: the name, the first day, the number of days and the crew every day. Dates are set with − and +, on your phone’s own date.…
