Definition

Reviewers repeatedly report that the app is not what its advertising showed. We never see the ad creative itself, so nothing we collect can corroborate or refute this — it is published as an attributed user report: what reviewers say, and how many of them said it.

Open evidence

Usable without an account

The store privacy disclosure (3 entries) links no contact details or identifiers to the user — consistent with an app that does not require an account. Self-reported by the developer.

Where measured
From the App Store privacy disclosure

This observation has not cleared the required evidence standard.

Definition

The app's own screens offer a way past sign-up — guest access, skipping, or browsing before registering — rather than gating the product behind an account. The store's privacy disclosure is checked alongside it: that disclosure is self-reported, so it corroborates this credit rather than establishing it.

Open evidence

Nothing was published as a thing to watch for in this assessment. That is not a finding that nothing is wrong with the app.

Paywall blocks the basics

Every thing costs money — Every single thing costs money to use. The only thing that is free is record yourself. If you want to spend the money to use crappy ringtones then you can but I would not recommend.

I don’t like how u have to pay for everything I wanted a live wallpaper and it said pay 😡😡😡😡 — BAD APP

1★ · App Store · 2021-12-24

Not great at all.. — I just got this today and I was excited to use it but the worse part is that everything you have to pay money for and I don’t wanna spend money so I’m giving this 1 ⭐️

Aggressive ad load

Shown, not confirmed

Not worth it — It has a ton of ads. I’ve only been on for five minutes and there’s been an ad every minute. I don’t recommend getting it.

1★ · App Store · 2026-09-17

Way too many ads and not why I was expecting. — So I got this app hoping that it would have meme ringtones and alarms and when I say like meme I mean like your phone is ringing pick up the phone, or like actual funny tones, and alarms…

2★ · App Store · 2026-03-27

App was good, until update. — I used to use the app to convert many videos to ringtones, but now you can’t do anything without pro. You can make one ringtone if you watch an ad, but only every 30mins. The issue with this is, it bugged out…

Charged full price for free trial — As soon as I accepted the free 3 day trial I was charged full price of $26.79. When I went to the app for support you can click on everything BUT contact us. This app is a rip-off - they just want your…

1★ · App Store · 2025-03-29

I hate it — I thought I had a free trial before getting charged but I got charged 34. Something before trying it and I can’t figure it out. I hate it. I already canceled my subscription but I’m stuck with it for a year and I don’t…

1★ · App Store · 2023-06-21

No Free Trial — I thought I was getting a free trial but the next thing I know I’m getting charged 35 dollars, which is non refundable. To make matters worse, the app doesn’t even work. I got bamboozled!

Reports that the ads misrepresent the app

Shown, not confirmed

Ringtone — I purchase a ringtone that I sample but when I downloaded it, it was completely different from what the sample was. It was a bait and switch trick. Why would you do that?

1★ · App Store · 2023-07-12

Worst app ever, false advertising — So I was told this was awesome and the best ringtones you could ever want, but the problem, it said it was free, BUT ITS NOT! I go to get the subscription it automatically logs me out and could not get…

5★ · App Store · 2022-08-30

Free? — I asked for free ringtones, this is a pay for it app. Why it came up in free idk, but better make that clear. False advertising

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

How the automated analysis works

This assessment is produced automatically. Three independent signals are read — user reviews, the store listing and the store privacy disclosure — and each candidate finding is filed under the sources that support it.

No charge stands on one kind of evidence — with one published exception. A finding is either a measured fact that anyone can reproduce (an ad SDK is in the package; every subscription bills weekly; the privacy label omits a tracker we can see), or it is an interpretation — and an interpretation needs independent sources to agree before it reaches the catch list. The exception is a harm only users can see: a charge may publish from reviews alone, as “Reported by N users”, once enough reviewers raise it to clear that charge’s own published bar. That agreement rule is what replaced the human reviewer, not a model’s confidence.

There is no overall score, on purpose. A 0–99 number was published here until 2026-09-15. It was withdrawn because it discriminated too weakly to be the instrument — 44.7% of every pair of apps tied — and because a single number is a verdict where a count is an observation. What publishes instead is a row of measurements, each of which says what was counted and, where we could not look, says that instead.

Findings under One source only are real reports we do not stand behind as findings. They are shown because withholding them entirely would hide a genuine complaint, and labelled because publishing them as charges would be an accusation off a single source.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A hands-on test can confirm or contradict a finding and adds its own measurements; it does not change a measurement row. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
