About this app

Track what you eat. Learn what you burn.

Tare is a calorie and macro tracker that runs on your iPhone and stays there. No account to create, no ads, no analytics. Your food log lives on your device and, if you want it to, in your own iCloud. One payment. No subscription.

EVERY DAY

• Log food from three sources — a built-in food index that works offline, USDA FoodData Central, and Open Food Facts — or scan a barcode, or point your camera at a nutrition label

• Watch calories, protein, carbs, and fat fill against your goals as the day goes on

• Build your own foods, recipes, and meal templates once, then log them in a tap

• Sort your day into meal categories you name, color, and order yourself

• Track water with quick-add buttons sized to your own glass…

Store update history

Each store’s release notes, as the developer wrote them. They are the developer’s words, not ours.

App Store

Version 2.5.0 · 2026-10-22
• Scan a label from a photo: in a custom food, tap Scan Label, then the photo button beside the torch, to read a nutrition label from a screenshot or a picture in your library — a label built on a website, or one someone sent you — instead of typing it • The label scanner reads more panels right: a calorie figure printed apart from its label, a serving line like "1 bar (30g)", a serving printed under its label or as a word alone, like "Burrito", and a kcal figure under its kilojoules • On the review page the serving is one row you can edit, amount and unit, with an optional weight beside it, so a serving read wrong is fixed before it reaches the food

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

What a missing label means

Not yet tested. No analysis has been published for this app, so there is no method to describe for it yet. A missing label is not a clean bill of health: it means nothing has been read, not that nothing is wrong.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A human review gives an app hands-on, recorded measurements. None has been run for this app. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
