About this app

Tech Scout bypasses iOS’s computational photography pipeline by leveraging film industry post production color workflows and advanced film emulation tools, bringing an entirely new type of photography to your iPhone.

A still camera with a motion picture camera under the hood. Accurately emulate all major motion picture cameras. Any look, any camera, right in your pocket.

At Tech Scout’s core is its camera system. Motion picture image science and film emulation tools have been fully ported to run locally on device, without cloud compute or AI-assisted image processing. Apple's computational photography image pipeline is replaced by wide color gamut, ACES-derived log workflows, standardizing to the same image pipeline film industry professionals work with every day.…

Version 1.0.5 · 2026-10-26
Tech Scout v1.0.5 introduces an updated Scout Negative film look, improved capture speed on non-Pro iPhone models, improved Apple ProRAW development times, Director's Finder frame guide improvements, and iOS 27 bug fixes. PERFORMANCE • Apple ProRAW (48 MP) captures now render up to 5x faster. • Faster focus and capture performance in Bayer RAW and Apple ProRAW modes. CAMERA MODE • Scout Negative film look has been redesigned from the ground up, resulting in a punchy and dramatic look representative of popular still photography film scanning techniques. • Added Scout Preset AWB - a new white balance mode enabled in the white balance tray. Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

What a missing label means

Not yet tested. No analysis has been published for this app, so there is no method to describe for it yet. A missing label is not a clean bill of health: it means nothing has been read, not that nothing is wrong.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A human review gives an app hands-on, recorded measurements. None has been run for this app. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
