About this app

The Mahj App is the a mobile app built specifically to teach American Mahjong - from the tiles and terminology to strategy, Mahjong rules, and how to actually think through the game with confidence. It’s an independently made app, built by one person who wanted Mahjong to feel accessible to anyone curious enough to learn it.

If you are brand new to Mahjong, this app was built to make learning feel approachable and enjoyable. Clear visual guides break down every tile, rule, and concept, while quizzes and interactive game levels help reinforce what you are learning so it actually sticks. You can move at your own pace, revisit lessons as often as you want, and build real confidence before sitting down at a real table.

For players who already know the basics, The Mahj App works as a reliable Mahjong reference and practice tool.…

Version 5.3 · 2026-10-24
10/24/26- Bug fix daily challenge. I heard you loud and clear. This is a big update, and almost everything in it came straight from your feedback. What's new: • Large text option, so everything is easier to read • Large tile option, for bigger and easier-to-see tiles • You can now call a tile without it covering your hand • Clearer hand descriptions, so it's easier to understand exactly what each hand requires Thank you to everyone who took the time to send me feedback. It genuinely shapes what I build, and I read every message. Keep it coming!

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

What a missing label means

Not yet tested. No analysis has been published for this app, so there is no method to describe for it yet. A missing label is not a clean bill of health: it means nothing has been read, not that nothing is wrong.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A human review gives an app hands-on, recorded measurements. None has been run for this app. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
