About this app

The Shelf is a private reading tracker for books you study, stories you love, and everything in between. Build a library that feels like yours, then track only what feels useful.

BUILD YOUR LIBRARY

• Search by title, author, or ISBN and choose the edition that matches yours.

• Scan book barcodes on supported iPhone and iPad devices, or add books manually on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

• Keep each edition or physical copy separate, with its own progress, sessions, and reading history.

• Save books as Owned, Wishlist, or Track. Organize them with your own Lists, Subjects, and shelf locations.

• Keep track of borrowing and lending without changing your reading history.

• Import Goodreads or StoryGraph CSV files, or import and export a complete JSON backup.…

Version 1.14 · 2026-10-27
The Shelf 1.14 brings your reading life to iPhone Duo, Mac, and Apple Watch, with a calmer Focus experience and more room for your books. • iPhone Duo support across its outer and inner displays, including landscape on the open inner display and layouts that adapt when partially folded. • Your complete library on Mac, with menus, keyboard commands, annotations, Focus, import, export, and optional private iCloud sync. • A companion for Apple Watch. See current and recent books, start and control Focus sessions, or log a short past session from your wrist. • A refreshed Focus view with prominent cover art, a simpler session-length menu, pausable count-in, clearer long timers, and more…

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

What a missing label means

Not yet tested. No analysis has been published for this app, so there is no method to describe for it yet. A missing label is not a clean bill of health: it means nothing has been read, not that nothing is wrong.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A human review gives an app hands-on, recorded measurements. None has been run for this app. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
