About this app

How fast is your charger? Plug in your iPhone or iPad and Watt Charging Speed estimates your charging speed in watts: the power reaching your battery. Tell a fast charger from a slow one, and see whether your cable keeps up.

HOW IT WORKS, HONESTLY

iPhone and iPad don't let apps read the charging power from the hardware. Watt works out the charging speed from how quickly your battery percentage rises, combined with your device's battery capacity. That means:

• The figure is an estimate of the watts reaching the battery. That is less than the charger's rated output: a 20 W charger usually reads below 20 W, and that is expected

• iOS reports the battery level in steps, so the first reading can take up to about 10% of charging.…

App Store

Version 1.5 · 2026-10-26
New devices, a clearer first reading and a better iPad layout: • The first reading can take up to about 10% of charging, and Watt now says so while it waits • Battery sizes for iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo and iPhone 17e, and for iPad Pro (M5), iPad Air (M3 and M4), iPad (A16) and iPad mini (A17 Pro) • Battery sizes for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and older iPads too, so every iPhone and iPad that runs iOS 18.6 is covered • Corrected battery sizes for iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPad (10th generation) • iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max outside the US: battery data is now more accurate for your model, so readings may differ slightly from earlier…

Method and limits

What this report can and cannot show

What a missing label means

Not yet tested. No analysis has been published for this app, so there is no method to describe for it yet. A missing label is not a clean bill of health: it means nothing has been read, not that nothing is wrong.

Limits of this report

  • A package scan is static. It identifies code and text in one Android build. It does not measure a live ad session, test a deletion request, or count the steps needed to cancel.
  • Reviews keep their sample. A review-only charge shows distinct reviewers, the share and the sample size, and is published only once it clears that label’s published threshold. Calibration labels are machine-drafted and not yet confirmed by a person.
  • Not assessed is a state. It is never a zero and never a pass.
  • A missing label is not a clean bill of health. It means the evidence did not support one, not that the app is problem-free.
Not yet human-reviewed. A human review gives an app hands-on, recorded measurements. None has been run for this app. Hands-on inspections are not yet open.
